# How to Set Up SMTP for Email via Lycos Mail

> Lycos Mail can be configured to send emails via SMTP by using the following settings:

## SMTP Server Details

* **SMTP Server/Host:** `smtp.mail.lycos.com`
* **SMTP Port:** `25`

## Authentication Information

* **SMTP User Name:** Your Lycos email address (e.g., `yourname@lycos.com`).
* **SMTP Password:** Your Lycos password.

## Additional Information

* Port 25 is typically used for SMTP without encryption. If you encounter issues or require a secure connection, it’s advisable to check if Lycos supports alternative ports such as 587 with STARTTLS.
* Ensure that your Lycos account permits SMTP access. Some providers may require you to enable this feature or authenticate your session differently for security purposes.
